Reward Announced: Urgent Search Underway for Missing ‘Physically and Sexually Abused’ 12-Year-Old Oklahoma Boy

UPDATE

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announced Friday a $5,000 reward in connection with the safe return of 12-year-old Ryan “RJ” Davis, last seen in Chickasha on January 2.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), RJ was last seen at Fourth Street and East Grand Avenue, at a Quality Inn hotel, at around 11:30 p.m., as CrimeOnline previously reported.

Investigators are treating the case as a “suspicious disappearance,” KOCO News reports.

While speaking of RJ’s home life, Hunter McKee with OSBI, stated Tuesday it “was not a safe environment for him,” adding that he had been physically and sexually abused.

“When Chickasha police department requested us to look into this case, not only was it important for us to locate this child safely, but we also needed to look into the entire aspect of this case and find out why is the child missing in the beginning for multiple days.”

OSBI said the abuse happened at the hands of RJ’s mother and stepfather, Kimberly and George Cole, Oklahoma’s News 4 reports.

During an interview with News 4 on Wednesday, the parents claimed that they were living in a room at the Quality Inn because “we live in a fifth wheel travel trailer, and we just can’t have showers with everybody in the house.”

They both reportedly acknowledged that the Department of Human Services (DHS) had visited them numerous times. However, George Cole claimed that they were cleared and that “there is no abuse, there’s nothing.”

RJ’s paternal uncle, Ricky Aderholt, stated that Kimberly Cole had kept the child from his family for years.

“It’s just heartbreaking to look at this and see what he has to live with and go through every day and not knowing exactly what he really went through,” Aderholt added.

“He needs to know he has family, that he hasn’t got to be around that loves him very much.”

Police have since arrested George and Kimberly Cole. Both are facing multiple charges related to physical and sexual abuse, according to 9 News.

One of the charges against Kimberly Cole includes “crime against nature,” although details surrounding the charge are not yet available.

“This is an extremely sad and horrific case for everyone involved,” McKee said. “We’re talking about a 12-year-old boy who didn’t get to live the life of a normal 12-year-old child.”

Search crews are scouring through rural areas, while officials searched a property Thursday connected to the parents’ family.

OSBI officials and the Chickasha Police Department said Thursday that they feel R is still alive and are investigating multiple leads.

RJ was last seen in dark-colored jeans, a red and black plaid shirt, and brown steel-toe boots. He’s described as standing 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 85 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Meanwhile, a family member has obtained protective orders against the suspects, the Oklahoman reports. The order, filed on January 5, prohibits the Cole couple from making contact with the family.

The order also required that the suspects to refrain from bodily harm, threats, or causing fear against the family member. They are also required to turn over all firearms to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the OSBI tip line at tips@osbi.ok.gov or 1-800-522-8017, or call the Chickasha Police Department at 405-222-6050.
