22-Year-Old Mom Arrested After Toddler Son Presents With Bruising on His Body

A 22-year-old California mother was arrested Sunday after her toddler’s grandmother reported the child had bruising on his body.

Barstow Police said the grandmother picked up the 2-year-old at a custody exchange with the mother, identified as Lillian Roxanne Nunez-Arvizu, and noticed the bruising. She contacted police who attempted to find Nunez-Arvizu but were unable to locate her.

They handed the investigation over to detectives, who “confirmed the child’s injuries, ensured the child was safe with is father, located and interviewed Nunez-Arvizu, and gathered additional evidence,” the police department said.

Nunez-Arvizu was charged the felony child endangerment and booked into the High Desert Detention Center in San Bernardino County.

No further information was released.
