The search continues for a Pennsylvania man who went missing in 2022.
Kadin Black, 19, vanished from York County a week before Christmas. Lower Windsor Township police Chief James Thomas told WGAL that they are unsure whether Black left on his own accord or if foul play is involved.
“We don’t have evidence saying that he was on the run because of his legal issues. It’s still up in the air,” Thomas also said.
NewsNation reported that Black was living with a friend’s family a couple of minutes away from his father, with whom he had a falling out. Despite this, Black would go to his father’s home every Sunday to give the dogs exercise.
Alarms were raised when Black did not arrive at his father’s home for the weekly visit. The father of the friend Black was living with filed a missing person report two days later.
Black’s mother told NewsNation that her son had mental health issues, including bipolar order, and was facing criminal charges for an altercation with a school bus driver. However, she does not believe his legal issues led to him leaving on his own.
“It doesn’t make sense that on Dec. 17, one week after he turned 19, one week before Christmas, that he would just decide to run away. For a case that wasn’t even coming up until the end of January,” she said.
Police said they have conducted hundreds of interviews, but Black remains unaccounted for. Thomas told NewsNation that they do not know when Black left — a missing detail which has complicated their investigation.
Black was described as standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, and having brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts should call Lower Windsor Township police at 717-244-805.
Black’s case is being covered as part of CrimeOnline’s “Finding the Lost: Black and Missing” series, which will feature a missing Black person every day in February. The full series can be read here.
