Upstate New York Man Calls 911 to Say He’s Killed His Parents With a Hammer

A 45-year-old upstate New York man has been charged with the murders of his elderly parents last week.

Fort Plain police said they were called to the home just after 4 p.m. last Friday “for a reported homicide.” They did not say who called them, but when they arrived, officers found a suspect in the driveway and took him into custody.

According to WRGB, Robert G. Robbins Jr. made the 911 call, telling dispatch that he’d just killed his parents with a hammer.

Inside, police said, officers found the bodies of 78-year-old Robert G. Robbins Sr. and 76-year-old Mary A. Robbins.

Robbins Jr. was charged with two counts of second degree murder.

He was arraigned this week and remanded to the Montgomery County jail without bail.
