A 24-year-old West Virginia man has been charged with first degree murder in the shooting death of his girlfriend.
Richard Grad was booked into the Central Regional Jail on Thursday.
West Virginia State Police Captain L.T. Goldie told WSAV that a 911 call brought them to the home in Maysel, where they found 31-year-old Savanah Keaton dead from a gunshot wound.
“911 was called, that’s how we became aware of the situation, and then the suspect actually had called in and said that he would meet investigators at a gas station,” Goldie said.
Goldie added that Grad and Keaton lived together and had a child together “so it’s a domestic-related issue.” Social media posts for Keaton appeared to show two young sons.
The captain did not say where the children were when their mother was murdered.
