An investigation is underway in Washington, where a woman who vanished last week was found dead on Tuesday.
KPQ reported that a homeowner in Sprague discovered Aspen Valdez’s body in their backyard and called 911. Valdez, 26, was last seen on State Route 23 in Sprague on February 26, when she demanded to get out of her family’s car to go to Spokane.
The family was heading from St. John to Yakima when Valdez demanded to leave the vehicle. Additional details regarding her disappearance remain unclear. Authorities have not disclosed how Valdez died or if foul play is suspected in her death.
Police have asked the public for security footage relevant to this case. Anyone with footage or information regarding Valdez’s disappearance is asked to call the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 509-725-3501.
