Mom Filmed Dancing TikToks in Hospital as Infant Son Died of Abusive Head Trauma

A Washington couple was charged last week with killing their 7-week-old son, who reportedly suffered injuries consistent with abuse.

Mark Anthony Labaco Clamor and Alyssa Vanderbeck, 21 and 19, called 911 on March 4 to report their baby was not breathing. KIRO reported that the baby died five weeks later — and doctors concluded he was possibly shaken due to the significant brain hemorrhaging he sustained.

Court documents accused Vanderbeck of posting a video to TikTok on March 8 in which she is seen dancing in the bathroom with upbeat music. The video was filmed a day before her son died, according to KING.

In addition to abusive head trauma, an autopsy uncovered intracranial and spinal hemorrhaging and rib fractures. Clamor told police that he was watching their son while Vanderbeck slept when the baby became fussy. He said he picked him up with a “jerking motion,” which caused his head to “jerk back pretty hard,” according to KOMO.

Clamor allegedly told police that he tried to pull his son to his chest as he realized he possibly handled him roughly. The baby then went to sleep nearby in a bouncer as Clamor and Vanderbeck took a shower.

Clamor and Vanderbeck eventually noticed their son was making grunting sounds, which they initially believed was gas or constipation. A search of their phones uncovered videos of the baby breathing heavily and making irregular eye movements, according to KOMO.

Authorities believe the couple waited an hour to call 911, as they called family and friends before getting help for their son.

Clamor and Vanderbeck were charged on Thursday with second-degree murder. Their bonds were set at $1 million.
