‘Demonic’: Starving Child Found Locked in Shed Near Buried Skeleton

A Missouri couple was arrested last week after three children were reportedly found living in substandard conditions on their property — where skeletal remains were also discovered.

Texas County police were investigating a missing person case when they executed a search warrant at a home in Bucyrus. KOLR reported that Chaun and Tamala Asbury, 42 and 45, fled the home as deputies located three children — including one who was malnourished, bound to a bed, and locked in a shed.

Deputies allegedly also found skeletal remains buried in a shallow grave.

Police noted that the home lacked utilities and a sewer. They also claimed that they uncovered more evidence that the children were being physically restrained.

According to Ozark Radio News, it is believed the remains are those of Ceasar Asbury, 18, who vanished in September 2025. The suspects had reported the teen as a runaway.

The skeletal remains have not been positively identified. A cause of death is also pending.

Despite trying to flee, Chaun and Tamala Asbury were detained at the scene. They are charged with child abuse and are being held on $100,000 bond.

Texas County Sheriff Scott Lindsey told KOLR that he expects additional charges against the couple as their investigation continues. Meanwhile, the three children are in protective custody.
