2 Teen Girls Arrested in Plot to Kill Classmate Because He Looked Like Sandy Hook Mass Murderer

Two Florida teens have been arrested for a plot to kill one of the classmates in a bizarre scheme they thought would bring back to life Adam Lanza, the gunman who killed his mother and 20 students and six staff at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012.

Court documents say Isabelle Valdez, 15, told investigators that the intended victim was “perfect and reminded her of Adam Lanza,” who committed suicide after his Connecticut rampage, WESH reports.

Valdez said she heard voices telling her that if she killed the intended victim, she and Lanza “would have a blood bond which would bring Lanza back to life.”

Valdez and 14-year-old Lois Lippert, Valdez’s best friend, were arrested and charged with attempted premeditated murder in January, court documents reveal. This week, the decision was made to charge them as adults.

The documents say an anonymous tip came in on January 22 to getfortifyfl.com, which sends tips to school officials and law enforcement. This tip, which said Valdez planned to kill another student the next day, was directed to Lake Brantley High School officials and local police.

The next day, police contacted the school security guard to get Valdez out of class, and she was brought to the principal’s office and questioned about wanted to hurt someone, the documents say.

That’s when Valdez told investigators about the intended victim’s resemblance to Lanza. She told them she had a letter to give to her parents after she finished her plan, and said she had a knife, gloves, trash bags, and cleaning wipes in her backpack for the murder.

School officials found those items in her backpack. She told school officials that she planned to wait in an upstairs bathroom and dag the victim in to kill him. She also said she had flowers for his funeral along with two cigarettes to smoke after the deed was done.

She told investigators she sometimes hears voices telling her to hurt other people and that she had been following her intended victim, memorizing his class schedule.

Lippert, the documents say, bought the items Valdez needed for the plot and helped sharpen the knife.
