GRAPHIC: Fugitive Arrested Years After He’s Filmed Raping 9-Month-Old Girl

A Tennessee man was arrested on Friday, years after he was charged with raping an infant.

Shelby County prosecutors had indicted Isiah Hayes, 27, in 2020. WREG reported that he was one of four men charged with sexually abusing three children — including a 9-month-old.

The abuse allegedly occurred in 2016 and was captured on video. Shelby County prosecutors said the crimes came to light after the baby’s mother discovered the illicit footage on a phone that she let one of the suspects borrow. That suspect, Daerius Ice, 23, allegedly instructed the victims to perform the sex acts on camera.

Police said Hayes admitted to inappropriately touching the baby after her mother discovered the video. She identified her daughter’s attacker as Hayes, who she recognized from Facebook, according to WREG.

Hayes was criminally charged in 2018, but he had posted the $10,000 bond the same year. A warrant was issued for his arrest on March 13 of this year.

According to WKRC, Memphis police were tipped off about Hayes being in Jackson for several days. Police then contacted U.S. Marshals, who assisted in apprehending Hayes at a housing complex without incident.

Hayes is charged with aggravated child rape, conspiracy to commit aggravated child rape, and especially aggravated solicitation of a minor. He is currently in Madison County Jail as he awaits extradition to Shelby County.
