California parents were found dead on Friday after one of their three children called 911 to say their father was attacking their mom.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said it got the call at about 9:30 p.m. They had to breach the door to get inside, where they found the man and woman dead. The three children were not physically harmed.
According to KOVR, the deputies broke into the home after seeing the woman on the floor through a window.
“Our communications center received a call of service from a juvenile that called and stated that their dad was assaulting their mom. Fortunately, the three juveniles that were in the residence actually fled from the location, while our deputies were en route,” Sgt. Edward Igoe told KXTV.
Neighbors told the station that the father had been arrested seeral years ago and recently returned home after serving time. The sheriff’s office said it could not confirm that information.
The sheriff’s office said they were investigating the incident as a murder-suicide but has not positively identified the parents. They did not say where they children are now or provide the ages.
