Quadruple Amputee Professional Cornhole Player Charged With Shooting Friend to Death

A professional cornhole player who is a quadruple amputee has been charged with murder when he shot and killed a friend during an argument in his Tesla SUV Sunda night.

Dayton James Webber, 27, was driving with three other people in the vehicle in La Plata, Maryland, when he got into an argument with his front seat passenger, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office said.

“The incident occurred about 10:30 last night,” Diane Richardson of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office told WBAL. “The suspect and three other people were in a car. They were traveling on Radio Station Road when apparently the driver and the front seat passenger were involved in some kind of an argument. We’re not sure why. Based on information we received, the driver, who is Mr. Webber, shot the front-seat passenger.”

Webber pulled over after the shooting and asked his backseat passengers to help him drag the body out, the sheriff’s office said. They refused and got out of the vehicle, and Webber sped off with the body still inside. The surviving passengers flagged down police officers.

Officers searched the area but found nothing. About two hours later, a resident in Charlotte Hall, about 12 miles from La Plata, called 911 to report a body in their yard. Officer responded and found the body of the Webber’s victim, the sheriff’s office said.

He has been identified as Bradrick Michael Wells, 27.

Some time later, authorities in Charlottesville, Virginia — more than 100 miles from Charlotte Hall — called the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and said they’d found Webber’s car that that he was in a hospital. He was arrested after his release from the hospital.

He is now awaiting extradition to Maryland from the Albermarle County jail in Virginia. He   faces charges of first- and second-degree murder and other related charges.

WBAL said that Webber became a quadruple amputee at 10 months when he suffered from a serious blood infections.
