Washington State Man Charged With Murder After Girlfriend’s Body Found in River

A Washington state man has been charged with second degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, who was reported missing in February.

The Skagit County Sheriff’s Office said Juan Manuel Delgado Jr. was arrested on March 19.

The boy of Krista Hunt, 37, was found in the Skagit River on March 12, KING reported. The body was positively identified on March 18.

She was last seen on January 25 with Delgado when they ran out of gas near a restaurant in Concrete. He said she got out of the truck and walked away but hadn’t been seen since.

Hunt’s mother reported her missing on February 1. Pamela Hunt told KING that Delgado was abusive and that she had taken Krista Hunt to a hospital weeks earlier after an altercation.

“She did in fact have a broken leg. She said he had boot-stomped her leg and her chest,” Pamela Hunt said. “She said one time he set a timer and told her he was going to hit her every 15 minutes.”

Two days after Hunt was reported missing, Delgado reported shot himself at a bar in Concrete. Obviously, he survived.

Investigators has not determined a cause of death for Hunt but did say they found clumps of hair and blood in Delgado’s truck, Law&Crime reported. The coroner also said she hd suffered a broken neck broken jaw, and broken ribs. Delgado, who previously told investigators he had not idea where Hunt was, reportedly told friend she was hit by a car.

He’s being held an a $1 million bail.
