Middle school bus driver arranges to meet 11-year-old girl at ice cream shop for sex: Cops

Authorities in New York arrested a school bus driver on suspicion of multiple felonies in association with an alleged attempt to arrange a sexual encounter with a young girl.

According to WNBC, 22-year-old Brayan Moscoso Arias sent explicit images and text messages to a girl attending sixth grade at a Westchester school.

Authorities claim he had sex with the girl on at least one prior occasion.

On the night of his arrest Friday, he and the girl had allegedly agreed to meet at an area ice cream shop.

Police officers arrived instead and were on hand to take Arias into custody. The girl was not at the scene at the time.

Officers reportedly recovered additional evidence from inside of his vehicle.

The Bedford Central School District superintendent released a statement acknowledging the allegations against the Fox Lane Middle School bus driver.

“The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority,” Christopher M. Manno said. “We are not able to provide any comment, as any such matter would be the subject of a law enforcement investigation.”

Reports indicate the suspect has since been charged with felony counts including first-degree sexual abuse and dissemination of indecent materials to a minor.

He was placed behind bars with bond set at $40,000 or cash bail of $20,000. As part of the terms of his release, a judge signed a temporary restraining order that would prevent him from having any contact with the alleged victim.

Initial reports did not indicate whether he had obtained a lawyer.
