DEVELOPING: Body found in shallow grave possibly belongs to missing actress

Los Angeles police detectives found a body in a remote area of Nevada County—which they suspect could belong to a model and aspiring actress missing since late February, authorities announced Tuesday.

KXTL reported that the remains were discovered Monday off Spenceville Road near Beale Falls, located northeast of Beale Air Force Base. The Los Angeles Times wrote that the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, LAPD detectives, and Cal State Chico anthropologists are assessing the crime scene and determining if the remains can be identified.

The discovery comes as police search for missing Hollywood woman Adea Shabani, 25, who disappeared from her home on February 23.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Shabani’s boyfriend, Chris Spotz, 33, fatally shot himself in Southern California last week during a police chase. Police reportedly wanted to question Spotz about his girlfriend’s disappearance when he allegedly sped off in a stolen car believed to have been used in a homicide.

At the time, investigators suspected that Shabani was killed somewhere between Sacramento and Hollywood.
