Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner

Investigators Name Suspect in Murders at Moab Campsite Last August

A Utah sheriff’s office has identified and named a suspect in double murder of Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner at their campsite near Moab last year.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Schulte and Turner — also known as Crystal Beck — were last seen at a bar in Moab on August 13, 2021. A family member reported speaking with the women the following night, when they said they needed to move their campsite because of a “weirdo camping near them that was freaking them out.”

Their bodies of the couple, who were married four months before their deaths, were found with multiple gunshot wounds on August 18.

The Grand County Sheriff’s Office named Adam Pinkusiewicz as the suspect in the couple’s deaths and said he worked at the Moab McDonald’s where Turner worked and was identified at the time “as one of many persons of interest” under investigation.

Investigators said that Pinkusiewicz told another person that he killed the two women and provided details about the killing known only to detectives.

The sheriff’s office said that Pinkusiewicz left Utah shortly after the murders and later died by suicide.

Investigators stressed that the case has not been closed and is still under investigation. They said the are processing “critical and newly discovered evidence” that includes the recent discovery and seizure of Pinkusiewicz’s 2007 Yaris automobile.

They also asked anyone with information about either the Yaris or Pinkusiewicz to contact them.
