Parents, Toddler Who Never Returned From Camping Trip Found Safe

A Maine family that went camping in June and never returned have been located and are safe.

Nicholas Hansen, Jill Sidebotham and their 2-year-old daughter Lydia Hansen left from the Springvale area on June 28. Sidebotham’s phone was turned off that day and Hansen’s the next, as CrimeOnline previously reported.

They were last seen at a Walmart in Mexico, Maine, on July 2.

Investigators located the family and spoke with all three of them via phone and video chat on September 6, the Sanford Police Department said, and local law enforcement met with them in person and verified they were safe.

.”The Sanford Police Department can report that each party is unharmed and safe, and no evidence of criminal behavior has been observed,” the department said. “At the involved parties’ request, no information as to their location or motive for departing the Springvale area will be disclosed.
