Developing: Florida Tot Girl Found Dead in Hot Car After Lunch Outing With Family

A 2-year-old Florida girl reportedly died on Thursday after reportedly being left in a car for two hours.

WESH reported that the toddler girl, her parents, and her brothers, ages 15 and 8, had lunch in DeLand. The family went to their home in Orange County but two hours later, the parents found their daughter unresponsive in the car.

The parents rushed the girl to the hospital but she was pronounced dead. Her death is under investigation. Temperatures in DeLand on Thursday were in the high 80s.

According to No Heat Stroke, the 2-year-old girl is the seventh child to die in a hot car this year. In 2022, 33 children died of vehicular heatstroke.
