8 Injured When Boat Slams Into House and Flips, Ejecting Passengers

A boat driver was arrested for boating while intoxicated causing serious injuries after the boat he was driving on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri ran aground, slammed into a house, and ejected its passengers.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash took place just before midnight Saturday. All eight people aboard the boat were injured, six of them seriously, and were transported to Lake Regional Hospital.

Adam Ramirez, 47, was arrested  and released for medical treatment.

The people on board ranged in age from 21 to 51, and none of them were from Missouri. None were wearing life jackets, investigators said.

The highway patrol said the home sustained extensive damage, KOMU reported.

A towboat captain told KOMU the owner of the home was inside sleeping when the boat slammed into the house and was not injured.
