Rudy Giuliani Heads to Georgia, Where He’s Charged in Trump Election Interference Case

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is reportedly en route to Georgia — where he’s charged with trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

According to WNYW, Giuliani was seen leaving his Manhattan apartment on Wednesday. He told reporters that he was heading to catch a flight.

“I’m going to Georgia, and I’m feeling very, very, good about it because I feel like I’m defending the rights of all Americans as I did so many times as a United States Attorney,” he said.

Along with former president Donald Trump, Giuliani and 17 defendants were charged with conspiring to change the 2020 election results. Giuliani was Trump’s personal lawyer at the time, according to Reuters.

In regard to Giuliani, he is accused of making false claims to officials to have them appoint alternative electors in the formal congressional certification of the election results who would, in turn, elect Trump.

Six other co-defendants have already surrendered to Fulton County jail. Trump is reportedly expected to turn himself in on Thursday, as the co-defendants have until Friday to turn themselves in.
