Suspect in Death of Alabama Mom of 2 Identified

Alabama police have identified a man believed to have shot dead a Midfield mother of two on Saturday and charged him with murder.

George Eric Peppins, a 47-year-old convicted sex offender, is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to Midfield Police.

Police said they responded to a call about an altercation just before 10 Saturday night and found 33-year-old Koreyanta “Koko” Davis dead by the side of the road, as CrimeOnline reported.

Midfield Police Sgt. Michael Jeffries told AL.com that Davis and another woman were involved in a physical altercation. During the fight, Peppins shot Davis, he said.

Friends said Davis leaves behind two young sons.

Anyone with information should call 911 immediately but not approach Peppins. Tipsters can call Jeffries at 205-745-3554 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
