Tyson Feed Mill Employees Find Rotting Body in Train Car While Unloading Corn

An investigation is underway after a body was reportedly discovered on Monday at a Tyson feed mill in Arkansas.

KATV reported that the badly decomposed body was found on a train hopper car that was delivering corn to Tyson Feed Mill in Hampstead County. Tyson employees allegedly told deputies that they saw what they believed was a human arm hanging from an unloading chute underneath the train car.

Hampstead County police said they were unable to retrieve the body from the bottom of the grain car, so they contacted a local towing service that lowered a cable from the top of the car to move a piece of metal. Police then recovered the body of what they believe is an adult male, according to KATV.

Kiamichi Railroad officials allegedly told police that the 100-car train dropped off beans in Mexico before it traveled empty to Missouri. From there, they said it was loaded with corn on Saturday before it went to Hope, Arkansas, for unloading.

The body has been transported to the  Arkansas State Crime Lab, where they will work to identify the decedent and their cause of death.
