Idaho’s governor has signed an agreement to extradite Lori Vallow Daybell to Arizona to stand trial on conspiracy to commit murder charges in the death of her fourth husband, Charles Vallow and an attempt on the life of her former nephew-in-law.

Gov. Brad Little signed the executive agreement, which was sent to him by Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs on September 13, on Monday, as CrimeOnline previously reported. Vallow Daybell is serving life in prison without parole for the murders of two of her children, Tylee Ryan, 16, and JJ Vallow. 7, and conspiracy to murder fifth husband Chad Daybell’s first wife, Tammy Daybell.

Chad Daybell faces the same charges, but his trial is not set to begin until April 1, 2024.

An Arizona grand jury indicted Vallow Daybell in June 2021 for conspiracy in Charles Vallow’s death. Vallow was shot and killed by Vallow Daybell’s brother, Alex Cox, in July 2019. Cox, who claimed self-defense in the shooting, reportedly died of natural causes in December.

A second Arizona indictment, handed up in February 2023, charged Vallow Daybell with conspiracy to kill Brandon Boudreaux, who was married to Melani Pawlowski, Vallow Daybell’s niece, at the time. Investigators say Cox shot at Boudreaux, attempting to kill him, but missed.

The agreement signed by the two governors calls for Vallow Daybell to be brought to Arizona to stand trial, at Arizona’s expense, and allows for her to “be transferred back and forth between the State of Arizona and the State of Idaho” for the proceedings.

Vallow Daybell faces a life sentence in Arizona if she is convicted of the charges.

No information was made available about timing: The Idaho Department of Corrections does not release such information prior to movement of a prisoner. As of 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, she was still at the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center, according to IDOC records.

Charles Vallow’s sister, Kay Woodcock, said in a statement she was happy to hear that Little had signed the agreement, EastIdahoNews.com reported.

“1567… The number of days keeps increasing as we fight for justice. FINALLY!!!!” she wrote. “We are not sure when she will be moved but are thrilled with progress. Simply knowing it’s in motion, leaves us feeling relieved and happy.”
