Man Arrested After Allegedly Trying to Enter Taylor Swift’s NYC Townhouse

A man has been arrested after he allegedly tried entering Taylor Swift’s locked residence in New York City, WABC-TV reports.

Around 1:45 p.m. Saturday, police were called to Swift’s townhouse on Franklin Street in the TriBeCa neighborhood for a report of a “disorderly person,” according to the New York Post.

“Upon arrival, [police] were informed that the individual attempted to open a door to a building at the location,” an NYPD spokesperson told the newspaper.

The man was wearing khaki pants, a tan hoodie and navy-blue jacket, along with wearing tan gloves, according to photos from the scene reviewed by CrimeOnline.

Multiple witnesses told the Post they had seen the man in the neighborhood recently, with one person estimating he had been around for weeks, while another said a month.

“When he arrived before Christmas, my husband asked what he was doing here and he said, ‘I want to see Taylor,’” one neighbor told the Post. “He even had flowers at one point.”

Police arrested the man, whose name has not been released, after determining he had an open arrest warrant from an unrelated matter in 2017.

As of Sunday, no charges had been filed against the man for what happened outside Swift’s house.

Swift, 34, has faced numerous stalkers and threats since becoming an international pop star, prompting a major security apparatus wherever she goes.

About two years ago, a 52-year-old man was arrested for trespassing after he tried to break into Swift’s Manhattan home, according to CBS News. The man had repeatedly come to the building and rang the doorbell.

In 2018, a man was able to get into Swift’s New York City townhouse and took a nap, according to The Associated Press. The same year police arrested a man outside Swift’s house in Beverly Hills; the man had ammunition, a knife and a rope with him.

Stalkers have also breached security at Swift’s homes in Rhode Island and Tennessee.
